For almost five decades, the name BBS has stood for passion and sportsmanship cast in metal. Innovative technologies, brilliant design language and production at the highest level are our trademarks. As a leading manufacturer of light alloy wheels for the automotive industry and aftermarket sector, we set standards in design and quality and constantly raise the standards a little higher.
BBS. Established in 1970. With our 50th Anniversary coming next year, the world's best-known premium light-alloy wheel brand kicks off its Jubilee Year celebrations at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas and the Essen Motor Show. Further events, fairs and celebrations are planned for 2020.
In 1970, Heinrich Baumgartner and Klaus Brand founded a small production facility for plastic body parts in the tranquil Black Forest village of Schiltach. Baumgartner - Brand - Schiltach. The initials of the two founders and the place combined to form the company name BBS.
Three years later, the visionary Heinrich Baumgartner developed and manufactured a novel three-piece, lightweight alloy wheel for motorsport applications. Within a few years, this light and strong wheel technology had asserted itself as a pre-requisite for motorsport success. From these roots a company of international repute went from strength-to-strength, the BBS name a synonym for sporty alloy wheels.
The annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas is the world's largest trade fair for car accessories and tuning. This year our exhibition at SEMA can be found in the prestigious Central Hall (Booth # 24219) where their 50th Anniversary logo will be presented along with the world premiers of four aniversary edition wheels. These new designs, the FI-R, CI-R, CH-R II and XR, will each be shown in the limited edition colour satin bronze. The exhibition car on the stand will be a McLaren 570S, wearing BBS FI-R wheels on one side, and BBS LM on the other.
In addition to this uniquely elegant colour, exclusive 50th Anniversary centercaps distinguish the special Jubilee models of the Forged Line, Performance Line and Design Line. The Anniversary wheels from the Performance and Design Lines can be optionally equipped with the patented BBS stainless steel collision protection ring in all available colours.
For the Essen Motor Show, we will debut the above-mentioned Anniversary models along with new colour variations of the XR design. The highlight at our stand in Hall 7 (Stand 7E13) will be the new Porsche 911 Speedster in the “Heritage Edition” fitted with BBS FI-R in the limited edition satin bronze finish. Come and visit us at those great fairs!
