Do I have to pre-order/buy tickets online?

This year there will only be online-tickets. For the first time there will NOT be a box office.

Will tickets be so limited that you have to be afraid not to get any?

Yes! Due to the current situation we are allowed to let significantly less visitors into the halls. It pays out to be fast. Of course we will inform you on time by newsletter and on social media! An advantage to fewer people in the halls: More space and a better view of the individual exhibits.

Will there ever be something like media tickets for people who make aftermovies?

The accreditation guidelines for Mediatickets can be found here .

What limitations will Corona have?

You will find the current Corona requirements and the associated hygiene concept of Messe Essen here . We assume that the requirements will change before the EMS in November, so we can currently only communicate the currently valid requirements:

  • tickets for a specific day of the fair
  • fewer tickets
  • more generously planned exhibition halls
  • Minimum distances
  • Duty to wear masks
  • increased possibilities for disinfection and hand washing
  • ...

How many visitors are you expecting?

This year there will not be a record number of visitors like in the past years with over 360,000 people.

According to current regulations, 7m² must be planned for each visitor. In case of changing conditions we will of course adjust the number of tickets accordingly.

Do you have to wear a mask permanently?

Again, only an answer regard to the currently valid regulation is possible at this time.

According to the current status, it will not be possible to avoid covering your mouth and nose during your visit to the trade fair.

How's that for distance?

Again, an answer regarding the current regulation.

The minimum distance of 1.5m also applies to trade fairs. We will plan the entrance situation and the individual halls accordingly.

What about people who don't play by the rules?

Our security staff will be trained accordingly and make sure that the rules will be followed. Those who do not follow the rules will be expelled from the halls if necessary. The safety of all visitors is of course our top priority.

How do you get the honour of exhibiting your car at the tuningXperience?

At tuningXperience , private individuals' vehicles are traditionally on display.

To become a part of the show, simply send your application with vehicle data, pictures and contact details to tuningxperience@essen-motorshow.de .

Is it possible to watch the EMS live on site or only via livestream?

The EMS will take place as usual live and here in Essen! A live stream or similar is currently not planned. But of course we will show you impressions of the fair on Facebook and Instagram.

What are the chances that everything will happen as planned?

The chances are very high because we always keep the current Corona regulations in mind when planning and can react quickly to changing conditions.

Will all halls be open?

Fans of the Essen Motor Show expect a number of innovations this year. As some exhibitors and program items will be missing on one occasion due to the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic, the appearance in the individual halls will also change.

This year, the Essen Motor Show will occupy halls 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and the Galeria. We will communicate an exact hall plan to you at a later date!

As usual, Halls 1 and 2 will be home to the Classic & Prestige Salon of the organizer S.I.H.A., in the other halls everything will revolve around the topics of Tuning & Lifestyle and Motor Sport.

We will make the exhibitor list available on our website in October.
