Relaxed parking next to the fairground

Please note

Low emission zone (LEZ) City of Essen

On 1 January 2013, an extensive low emission zone was established in the Ruhr district. Within the marked zone, a driving ban has been imposed on all motor vehicles bearing a red pollution badge or no pollution badge. From 1O July 2014, the driving ban will also apply to motor vehicles bearing a yellow badge.

We recommend that drivers of motor vehicles without a valid badge use the motorway network to bypass the city centre of Essen. You can bypass the low emission zone via the A52, exits Essen-Rüttenscheid or Essen-Haarzopf. An outline map shows the alternative route.

The entrances and exit gates to/from the fairground and to/from all fairground parking lots can be reached without entering the low emission zone.

For more details and order form to apply for the pollution badge see TÜV Nord.
