H&R Cancellation Kits for cars with electronic shock absorbers

H&R Cancellation Kits for cars with electronic shock absorbers

H & R Cancellation Kits are used when the suspension of a vehicle with electronically regulated shock absorbers is replaced by a suspension with conventional shocks. H & R Cancellation kits prevent error messages which would arise when passive suspension components are used. The function of the control unit/ ECU remains fully intact.

- Avoids error messages when changing the suspension
- Only the standard damping control is discontinued and error messages will not appear in the ECU
- Functions of the control unit fully remains
- Can also be used for other manufacturers and OE aftermarket suspensions

H&R Height Adjustable Spring Sets - The

H&R Height Adjustable Spring Sets - The

Innovative components such as the H&R height adjustable springs were already developed by the Sauerland suspension specialists at the end of the 1990s. With a current range of more than 150 applications, the focus is on vehicles which are originally equipped with adaptive suspension or damping force adjustable shocks.
The clou: Thanks to the reasoned adjustment mechanism, the H&R engineers make it possible to continuously lower the vehicle's centre of gravity by approx. 30-50 millimetres (contingent upon the vehicle), depending on the desired residual spring travel, even though the standard shock absorbers are retained. This not only ensures a particularly sporty vehicle appearance but also a significant increase in driving dynamics.
The H&R professionals of course carefully match the height adjustable spring systems to the respective original shocks and their individual characteristics. For this reason, neither an adaptation of the control electronics nor the discontinuation of these is necessary, which needs to be done when installing conventional coil over suspensions. With the H&R height adjustable springs the active standard suspension remains fully functional.
From a technical point of view, the lowering of the vehicle's centre of gravity in combination with the spring characteristics finely tuned in best H&R manner reduces the roll tendency and specifies the turning behaviour more precisely. Visually, H&R height adjustable springs provide a much more sporty vehicle look with wheels that are positioned harmoniously in the mudguards.

World premiere: H&R height adjustable springs for the new BMW M5

World premiere: H&R height adjustable springs for the new BMW M5

The new BMW M5 continues to boast a brilliant V8 biturbo engine, which now provides even more power due to its plug-in hybrid. 585 hp on the combustion engine side meet 197 electric horses, which sit between the engine and gearbox and push the Bavarian thunderbolt like the famous Saturn rocket. Three-point-five to a hundred is quite impressive! In return, however, the vehicle's unladen weight rises to two and a half tons.

Thanks to the fast team from BMW motorsport partner H&R, however the right H&R height adjustable springs have already passed the development department and will be available shortly. The associated, variably lowered centre of gravity of the vehicle ensures even more direct steering behaviour and reduced body movements in fast turns and thus conceals the vehicle weight.
Nevertheless, the electronic BMW standard shock absorbers with all control functions remain active, the ride comfort suitable for long journeys.

Would you like a little more? Optional H&R Trak+ wheel spacers made of high-strength aluminium promise the perfect “wheelbase”. Available in silver or black anodized, they can be used to standard and accessory wheels to the fender edges with millimetre precision.

In the case of leased vehicles, all H&R suspension upgrades can of course be removed without leaving a trace if the condition in which the vehicle was delivered is required when it is returned.

All H&R components always have the necessary part approvals and are Made in Germany!

H&R Bike Performance Springs - Motorsport goes mountain bike

H&R Bike Performance Springs - Motorsport goes mountain bike

The H&R Bike Performance Springs set new standards in terms of durability, performance and weight! The same high-strength special steels are used in the mountain bike sector as for springs used in motorsport to reduce the “unsprung masses”. This makes it possible to combine maximum performance with minimum spring weight.

Up to 30% weight saving depending on spring geometry
H&R Bike Performance Springs are available for shocks with 65mm stroke {350 to 800 lbs/in in increments of 25) as well as with 75mm stroke in different spring rates from 300 to 600 lbs/in. Depending on the version, the springs weigh between 223 and 453 grams

The spring rate
The spring rate indicates by how much the force per travel/deflection of a spring increases and is usually expressed in lbs/inch (pounds per inch). The spring rate is calculated from the key data like wire thickness, diameter, free length, number of coils or their pitch as well as the material specification.

The basics of correct setup, or “Sag” for short
To select the correct spring rate, it is important to consider the spring rate recommendation of the bike or shock absorber manufacturer as well as the intended use and the respective bicyclist weight that acts on the bike/suspension elements when stationary. This is defined by the term “sag”. If there is too little sag, the bike has too little grip; if there is too much sag, the handling becomes imprecise. Accordingly, sag must be taken into account for every spring/shock combination in order to optimally tune the bike.

The spring stroke
The stroke is the maximum length by which the spring can be compressed and must always match the stroke of the shock absorber used. If the stroke of the spring is shorter than that of the shock, there is a risk that both, the spring and the shock, may get damaged. If the stroke of the spring is greater than that of the shock, it must be ensured that the spring length is not too great. Otherwise installation problems may occur.

The spring length
The spring length is the free length of the spring, but is not directly related to the stroke of the spring. This is because the length can vary depending on the material, stroke and spring rate and is therefore not directly relevant. Appropriate Pom spacers can be used and combined to compensate for any required length.
